When not playing guitar with Madison’s Low Czars, Aaron Scholz finds the space to showcase his own material with The Also-Rans — like the stuff found on his powerful and yearning 2021 album, Third Place. Scholz is surrounded by talented refugees from other Madison bands including Matt Joyce (Shakey), Dan Kennedy (Mark Croft Band), and Eric Salisbury (The Ramble).

media release: The Also-Rans, a relatively new Madison band, combines four musicians with a long track record in the area. Aaron Scholz, Matt Joyce, Dan Kennedy and Eric Salisbury create a roots rock/Americana sound that is uniquely theirs.
