Jeanne grew up in Appleton where she participated in the Girl Scouts and the high school and church choirs.Jeanne received her degree in education in 1957 from the University of Wisconsin in Oshkosh. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert DeBraal, in Appleton on Aug. 3, 1957. Jeanne worked for the Monona School System from 1957 until 1960 then became a stay at home mom to raise her three children. She later became a substitute teacher.
